Dinefwr Park & Castle

Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, SA19 6PF

Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for considering us for your special day.

Newton House is a 17th Century manor house that’s nestled within the rolling hills of the Carmarthenshire countryside on the romantic Dinefwr estate.

Steeped in Welsh history, Dinefwr was home to the powerful Welsh Princes of Deheubarth who ruled from Dinefwr Castle, the ruins of which still stand overlooking the 800 acre parkland National Nature Reserve and Twyi River.

Today we are able to showcase a beautiful setting for your wedding or civil partnership, offering you a choice of stunning rooms, exquisite catering and the professional assistance of our team.

Every aspect of your special day will be tailored entirely around you, whether you want a formal or informal wedding, large or intimate.

By choosing to hold your wedding with us you are helping us to look after this unique and special place for future generations.

Your ceremony

The Grand Dining Room

The largest room in Newton House, the Dining Room houses a collection of historic portraits, an ornate fireplace and grand piano. Views look out to the eastern expanse of the parkland towards the Black Mountain range.

Capacity: 90 Guests

The Drawing Room

A light and airy space for an elegant wedding at Newton House; the Drawing Room is the perfect place to charm your guests with the magnificent ceiling designs and views of the medieval deer park – one of the finest views in the parkland.

Capacity: 40 Guests

The Conservatory

Like the Drawing Room, the Conservatory is draped in sunlight throughout the year and boasts spectacular views of the medieval deer park. Presented as it would have been in the early 20th century, this quaint and tranquil room is ideal for more intimate wedding ceremonies.

Capacity: 6 Guests with the remainder of your guests observing from the grand staircase.

The Formal Fountain Garden

Exchange your vows against the natural beauty of the first Parkland National Nature Reserve in Wales, by choosing an outdoor wedding at Newton House, in one of the following locations:

The Porch

Sheltered underneath the conservatory, looking out over the formal fountain garden, this romantic location with vaulted ceilings creates a stunning venue for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Capacity: 5 Guests with the remainder of your guests viewing from the surrounding gardens.

Summer House

Situated in the formal gardens looking back at the finest view of Newton House, our summer house makes for an ideal outdoor wedding venue.

Capacity: 5 Guests with the remainder of your guests viewing from the surrounding gardens.

We offer luxury catering options; a vintage high tea held in the Book Room or a sparkling drinks reception.

Wake up as a newly married couple at one of our spacious holiday cottages on the Dinefwr estate. We have two farmhouse style houses on site which are ideal for family gatherings or a romantic break away. Home Farm House can sleep up to 12 people and Penparc Cottage sleeps up to 8 people.

Suitable for groups of up to 15 we also have the Dinefwr Bunkhouse located in the inner courtyard of Newton House. The balcony overlooking the medieval deer park is the perfect place to enjoy a summers evening whilst there’s a cosy log fire in the large open-plan living area for those chillier winter months.

Our team are on hand to help you plan your wedding at Newton House. To discuss your personal requirements for your special day or to arrange a viewing with our wedding coordinator, please contact:

A beautiful setting for a wedding which was held on the 19th July(one of the hottest days of the year). The staff were very friendly and helpful and ensured that the natural interest of other visitors was not intrusive. We all had a wonderful time with everything running smoothly. The picturesque setting was perfect for photos, i.e.the Fountain Garden etc.
The tea room staff supplied drinks and nibbles:- home made elderflower drink and the savoury mini scones topped with various savoury toppings, were delicious. These staff members were also very helpful with miscellaneous problems(stitching lace that had been snagged on my mothers dress!)etc. Thanks to all for facilitating the smooth running of the wedding, we had a brilliant day (Tripadvisor)

Got married at Newton House in 2013 and it was perfect! You can either get married there, have photos there, or do what we did and hire a marquee and have your evening function on the lawn there aswell!
Asides from weddings, it’s a great place to visit, both for the park, Dinefwr Castle (CADW), and Newton House (National Trust) – you can’t believe you’re so close to Llandeilo as it’s so relaxing there.
